NORDIAG CE IVD LABELS ITS ARROW VIRAL KIT

NorDiag continues to expand its portfolio of diagnostic sample preparation kits. Today the company announces that its Arrow Viral Kit is available for in vitro diagnostics (IVD) use in Europe. Clinical laboratories in Europe will now be able to use this kit for clinical purposes.

The Arrow Viral Kit is a sample preparation kit which can be applied for testing of viruses, such as influenza in the infectious disease market. The CE IVD labeling of NorDiag's Arrow Viral sample preparation kit comes after successful completion of a validation study.

"CE IVD labeling is a growth driver by increasing the revenues per instrument sold and opening up for new instrument sales. CE marking enables sales to diagnostics laboratories and facilitates sales to several more customers", explains CEO in NorDiag, Mårten Wigstøl.

"NorDiag has now finalized its development of IVD kits in this round and can offer a range of IVD sample preparation kits for its Arrow and Bullet instruments covering viruses, bacteria, genetic disorders and HLA tissue typing. It is the applications and their flexibility that drives the instrument sales, and as such NorDiag has a very good strategic position for both its instruments in the molecular diagnostic market", Wigstøl comments.

NorDiag's low throughput instrument Arrow has the capacity of up to 10 000 isolations per year. NorDiag's medium/high throughput instrument Bullet has the capacity of up to 100 000 isolations per year.
