NORDIAG LAUNCHES SAMPLE PREPARATION KITS FOR THE LIFE SCIENCE MARKET
15 Feb 2011: NorDiag today announces that the Company's portfolio of sample preparation kits for the Arrow instrument in the Life Science market is available for sale to hospitals, laboratories and research institutes. The portfolio consists of three different applications; Arrow RNA, Arrow DNA and Arrow cell separation.
In addition, NorDiag has a portfolio of CE IVD marked sample preparation kits (DNA from stool, Viral NA, Bugs & Beads and DNA from blood) that also can be sold to the Life Science market.
NorDiag is the first company in the market with an instrument that can offer an automated solution for both isolation of nucleic acids and cells. This combined with an affordable desk top solution is a strong selling point in the life science market.
"The portfolio opens up the USD 18 billion Life Science market. The applications and the unique flexibility of the instrument drives the sales and as such, NorDiag has a very good strategic position to enter the Life Science market, explains CEO Mårten Wigstøl and adds, "NorDiag does not have a sales channel to sell in this market and will search for a distribution partner".
NorDiags Arrow instrument has the capacity of up to 10 000 isolations per year.
