NORDIAG RECEIVES NOK 3 MILLION IN LOAN FROM INNOVATION NORWAY - FOR AUTOMATION OF PRODUCTION LINE
NorDiag has been granted a NOK 3 million innovation loan from Innovation Norway. The loan will be used to automate the production of reagents and kits for the Arrow instrument, the Company's new product for automated sample preparation. The total investment for the product line will be NOK 6 million. The target is to have it up and running within the second quarter of 2011. - "The investment will make it possible to meet the increasing demand of reagents for the Arrow instrument. Additionally, the production will be more effective and cost efficient", says CEO in NorDiag, Mårten Wigstøl, and continues: - "The loan makes it possible for us to continue a competitive production in Norway, which also contributes to protect the product's unique features".
The demand for sample preparation kits will increase rapidly, as the instrument gradually gets adopted by laboratories. NorDiag will automate the production line for sample preparation kits with the planned investment. This allows the Company to meet an expected fast increase in demand in a very cost efficient manner. - We have estimated that our production costs will be reduced by 20 to 40 per cent on sample preparation kits for Arrow, says Wigstøl.
